Assembly House Classical Summer Series

The summer season of Assembly House Classical  lunchtime concert series continues this coming Thursday 21 July, 1pm when the popular soprano LISA CASSIDY with pianist JENNIFER WALSH give a recital of songs by Benjamin Britten, Debussy, Poulenc and Samuel Barber’s wonderful song cycle Knoxville; Summer of 1915.

Two weeks later, on Thursday 4 August, cellist MAX CALVER makes a welcome return with pianist KUMI MATSUO to play Prokoviev’s C major Cello Sonata and Schumann’s Fantasiestucke Op 73

The Assemble House is a wonderful Georgian building in the centre of Norwich, next to Norwich Theatre Royal and across the road from the Forum. It is a sparkling example of Georgian splendour where you can have lunch or afternoon tea as well as listen to fabulous music.

Organ Recitals at Norwich Cathedral

Marco Lo Muscio, the italian organist (collaborator of Steve Hackett – Genesis) will play
a special organ recital in Norwich Cathedral next 13 June at 1.10 p.m.

Program including two masterpieces of Rick Wakeman:
Jane Seymour and Judas Iscariot and a piece by Steve Hackett: Second chance.

Sistema in Norwich concert Friday 5 July at Epic

A world first! At 7.30pm on Friday 5 July in Norwich, two Sistema orchestras will perform simultaneously through a live web stream.  Using state-of-the-art facilities at Epic Studios, the Sistema Norwich Martineau Orchestra will perform alongside children from Liverpool (over an internet link) and Lambeth. The programme includes pieces to commemorate Benjamin Britten’s centenary year. The Martineau Orchestra will be joined by a Quartet from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. ​This is a concert not to miss!​

The Music in Norwich calendar is published twice a year – April and September. It is a comprehensive listing of classical music and jazz in and around Norwich. The calendar is produced by a partnership comprising: Britten Sinfonia, Norfolk and Norwich Festival, Norwich Theatre Royal, Norwich Philharmonic, Norwich Pops Orchestra, Norfolk and Norwich Chamber Music Society, St Peter Mancroft, Mozart Orchestra, Keswick Hall Choir, Norfolk County Youth Orchestra, Norwich Music Group, The Jay Singers, UEA School of Music, The Bach Players in Norwich, Viva Voce Singers, The Eaton Concert Series and Academy of St Thomas.
