Opportunity for young people – International Summer School

Norwich School and Pro-Am Strings are excited to be running a new International Music Summer School from 30th July-14th August 2019, held at Norwich School’s newly refurbished Music School.

The course will be suitable for young talented players of the violin, viola, cello and piano (14-18 years old) and will consist of individual instrumental music lessons and chamber music coaching, together with an immersion into the English language and culture.

At weekends, there will be trips to London and Cambridge and visits to local attractions. A special team will be providing evening entertainment so there will be lots of fun and games! We would encourage any international pupil who is keen to study in the UK in future to apply.

Please find the prospectus attached. For more information, visit https://www.proamstrings.com/music-summer-school/.

Pro-Am Strings has produced a short video which may also be useful to share with friends and family: https://youtu.be/j70DZ–hjpw

Let me know if you don’t have access to YouTube where you live, as I can send the trailer via WeTransfer if needed.

If you have any questions, please contact me at summerschool@norwich-school.org.uk.

Start your New Year with us as we welcome back cellist, Richard Tunnicliffe, a well-known name in the early music world and someone who has been a significant figure in our development as a group.

A programme of early Classical music including Haydn’s cello concerto in C and music by CPE Bach, JC Bach and Mozart.

We would love to have the hall filled with excited young cellists, so we are inviting any cellist aged 18 or under to come FREE of charge… no catch or small print at all.

Either book via the Theatre Royal tel: 01603-630000 or just turn up on the door to claim your free ticket. (Cannot be booked via the on line booking system .. too complicated!).

PLEASE do forward to any young cellists…and consider coming yourself too?As well as the Haydn Cello concerto, Richard will be directing the programme from the cello.. good for the youngsters to see it doesn’t always have to be the violinists who lead!
