Sistema in Norwich presents the second concert in their Arts Council funded ‘Performance Project’ series, a collaboration between the Colegate Nucleo Orchestra and the Vagaband.

With feet firmly planted in Americana and roots rock, the Vagaband have been gaining a national reputation, buoyed by the recent release of their third album (Something Wicked This Way Comes).   The first half of the concert will offer a programme from the Vagaband and the orchestra separately, but in the second half they will combine to play a set of arrangements of Vagaband songs, from across the band’s three albums.  An unique event, bringing new scope to one of Norwich’s most exciting bands.

Sistema uses the experience of joyful, collective music making to create social impact.  For the last 9 years they have used the approach to build resilience and raise aspirations among thousands of children and young people from Norwich’s poorest estates.  The Colegate Nucleo Orchestra is made up on young people who participate in the Teen Sistema.
