Chapel Concerts and Assembly House Sunday 2 September, 2018

Chapel Concerts is a series of concerts programmed by Roger Rowe in a former Swedeborgian chapel at 64 Park Lane, Norwich NR2 3EF. Roger also programmes a series of concert at the Assembly House, Theatre Street, Norwich – see below.

ASHLEY FRIPP piano

Ashley Fripp, who gave an excellent recital here two years ago, returns to give another stimulating recital of works by Bach, Chopin, Schumann  & Prokoviev’s  2nd Sonata – rarely played now, but rapturously received when it was first performed by the composer himself, in St Petersburg on February 5 1914, not long before the outbreak of war, and well worth a hearing.

Also, don’t forget the Carducci Quartet’s lunchtime concert on Thursday 13th September at the Assembly House – details below, Roger
