Saturday 21 January 2017, 7pm – 8.30pm
UEA Symphony Orchestra and Sacré Théâtre concert: Campus Concert
UEA Drama Studio (UEA campus)

Beethoven, Symphony No.5
Debussy/Louÿs, Les Chansons de Bilitis

UEA Symphony Orchestra warmly invite you to join them for a special campus-based concert on Saturday 21 January at 7.00pm in the UEA Drama Studio.

The concert will feature performances, by UEA Symphony Orchestra, of Beethoven’s celebrated Symphony No.5 and Debussy/Louÿs’ haunting Les Chansons de Bilitis.

A towering victory of will over adversity – Beethoven’s Symphony No.5 is the best known in the literature for its unyielding advocacy of the best that we can be. Come and experience this triumph of the human spirit at close quarters.

Sensuous and haunting, Louÿs’ Sapphic poetry and Debussy’s epigrammatic music combine to form a long-lost world, where the young woman Bilitis discovers the pleasures and the sadness of desire.

UEA Symphony Orchestra will be joined in their performance of Les Chansons de Bilitis, by the UK’s longest-running permanent French language theatre company, Sacré Théâtre.

Tickets for the concert cost £3 and are available to purchase online or on the door.

Please note:

Doors open at 6.30pm

Seating is unreserved. Latecomers may not be admitted, so please arrive at the Studio in good time.

We regret that we cannot exchange, refund or transfer tickets unless the event in question has been canceled or rescheduled.

All profits from UEA Music Centre concerts are used to fund scholarships for students.
