Thursday 5 January 2017
Unfortunately, the Chiarascuro Quartet have had to postpone their visit due to illness ‘til later in the year but Alina Ibragimova has kindly agreed to step in to give a solo violin recital which will include Bach’s Sonata & Partita No 3 and Ysaye’s 4th, 5th & 6th sonatas.
Those of you who have heard her recent highly praised recording of the Ysaye masterpieces will know that we are in for a very special evening.
On Sunday 8 January 6.30pm the Scottish baritone Thomas Humphries with Raya Costova presents a ravishing programme of songs by Tchaikovsky & Rachmaninov. Thomas Humphries is fast making a name for himself as a Wigmore prize winner and in opera with Glyndebourne Touring (Servio in Traviata) and Grange Park (Marcello in Boheme).
P.S. Don’t forget to book for the Michael Collins & friends weekend at JIC – a real feast of music by what promises to be an outstanding ensemble
