on Sunday 21 August at 7.30 pm we are giving a concert at Binham Priory in north Norfolk. We played this programme last summer at The Octagon Chapel in Norwich. So this is a chance to hear it if you missed it last year, or to hear it again in an especially magical setting.
Our ‘Seasons’ programme is light-hearted, upbeat and entertaining and invites you to make musical discoveries besides the tried and tested Vivaldi. It is definitely a programme to bring children to!
Although Vivaldi’s Four Seasons are the most popular, he was by no means the only baroque musician to write on that theme. This concert brings to light some of these other composers – Italian, French and Austrian – and will end appropriately on Vivaldi’s ‘Summer’.
Full details of the concert are on our website. Tickets cost £16, and they can be reserved by telephoning Maureen Frost (01328 830362) or they can be bought on the night.
Coffee and Cabbage
Our next concert at The Octagon Chapel in Norwich is ‘Coffee and Cabbage’ on Thursday 6 October. This is an all-Bach secular programme, including the famous Coffee and Peasant cantatas, with our favourite singers Rachel Elliott and Matthew Brook. More details hereand tickets here.
We have received some very nice reviews for our latest CD Venice to Hamburg, both in the UK and in the Netherlands. You can read them on our website. All our CDs can be bought here.
There is still time to subscribe to our next CD, Sleepers awake! (a programme of music by Buxtehude and Bach, which we performed both in Norwich and London in autumn 2014: more details here). You can do this by becoming a Friend of The Bach Players for 2016. Forms for this can be downloaded here or ask for one by replying to this email.
