UEA Choir and Symphony Orchestra spring 2016 concerts

UEA Choir and Symphony Orchestra are putting on two concerts this spring.

On Friday 11 March, UEA Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Stuart Dunlop, will perform a concert based on the theme of transformations, at St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich. The 70-strong orchestra, accompanied by award-winning pianist Warren Mailley-Smith and UEA Drama, will perform Felix Mendelsohn’s magical Overture and Incidental music for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well Sergei Rachmaninov’s beautiful Paganini Rhapsody and Gustav Mahler’s dramatic Totenfeier.

Doors will open at 6.45pm and the concert will start at 7.30pm.

On Saturday 30 April, UEA Choir, under the direction of Tom Primrose, will perform a concert of 20th century masterpieces, at Norwich (Anglican) Cathedral. The 160-strong choir will perform Benjamin Britten’s dramatic and rarely performed Ballad of Heroes op. 14 and Maurice Duruflé’s beautiful and much-loved Requiem, op. 9.

Doors will open at 6.45pm and the concert will start at 7.30pm.
