Handel Messiah (arr. Stian Aareskjold)

With its electrifying drama about the birth of a new life, its famous arias, and its rousing Hallelujah Chorus, Handel’s Messiah has deservedly become a beloved Christmas institution. In this arrangement for winds, the famous oratorio is sung by the BBC Singers – one of Britain’s most accomplished and versatile professional choirs, acclaimed for the rich beauty of their sound. The Singers are accompanied by Norway’s oldest orchestra, the Norwegian Wind Ensemble, a virtuoso woodwind and brass orchestra founded in 1734.

The performance will be approximately 2.5 hours long, including a twenty minute interval after No.33.

Tickets £12 – £30
Wheelchair and special access requirements can be booked by telephoning the Box Office.

  1. Val Tarrant says:

Why is Music in Norwich advertising a concert in Saffron Walden, Essex?

    Regards

    Val Tarrant

    • Hello, thank you for your question. Saffron Hall supported the most recent edition of the Music in Norwich publication by advertising their programme in the booklet. Many people like to know about concerts that they can travel to, such as Snape Maltings, Cambridge and Saffron Walden and hopefully, by co-marketing, we will also attract people to come to Norwich to attend concerts. Essentially it widens the sphere of influence. I hope that is a satisfactory response, but if not, please email me at info at theshiftnorwich.org.uk
      Best regards
      Marion
