With its electrifying drama about the birth of a new life, its famous arias, and its rousing Hallelujah Chorus, Handel’s Messiah has deservedly become a beloved Christmas institution. In this arrangement for winds, the famous oratorio is sung by the BBC Singers – one of Britain’s most accomplished and versatile professional choirs, acclaimed for the rich beauty of their sound. The Singers are accompanied by Norway’s oldest orchestra, the Norwegian Wind Ensemble, a virtuoso woodwind and brass orchestra founded in 1734.
The performance will be approximately 2.5 hours long, including a twenty minute interval after No.33.
