UEA’s popular Symphony Orchestra and Choir are looking for new members to join them for their 2013-14 concert season. If you are a keen orchestral player or singer, please come along and audition!
Both the UEA Symphony Orchestra and Choir rehearse weekly and perform at least two concerts, each academic year, at some of Norwich’s most prestigious concert venues, such as St Andrew’s Hall and Norwich Cathedral.
This Autumn’s performances include: a fun open-rehearsal of the Finale of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony on Saturday, September 28; a performance with Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir of Britten’s War Requiem on Saturday, November 9; a concert of Elgar’s Cello Concerto and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 on Friday, November 15; and a Christmas carol concert on Wednesday, December 4. In the Spring, there will be a combined UEA Symphony Orchestra and Choir concert on Friday, March 14 and a UEA Symphony Orchestra tour of France.

UEA Choir, directed by Tom Primrose, welcomes singers of all abilities and levels of experience and the audition process is friendly and informal.
UEA Symphony Orchestra, directed by UEA Director of Music Sharon Choa, invites players of ABRSM Grade 6 standard or above to audition and there are positions available in all sections of the orchestra.
For those orchestra members who show exceptional musical achievement and commitment, there are eight £300 music bursaries available, which are designed to help players develop their orchestral and instrumental techniques as well as leadership skills.
